judIcelandic Sheepdogs are a medium sized herding spitz that bark! They are versatile, happy, biddable, social dogs. I have been blessed to spend time with many Icelandic Sheepdogs from a variety of breeders around the world and have fallen in love with the breed. They can make loving family pets, but excel with a job. I compete in a variety of dog sports with my Icelandics and I am happy to chat with anyone about the breed and what they are capable of. Click here for a video that is used for Icelandic Sheepdog judges education - showing their type, temperament and working traits.
My goal in breeding Icelandic Sheepdogs is to preserve their instincts and ability as working dogs while being structurally correct and typey enough to be competitive in the breed ring. Temperament is my number one priority - these dogs should be confident, happy and social and it is important to me that they maintain these traits. We are not currently expecting any litters until early 2022. You can email us for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can learn more about "Icies" from the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America. The following video is used for judges education and is a wonderful collection of images of the Icelandic Sheepdog in its native country, doing the work it is bred to do.
