AKC Major pointed RED CEDAR TRI-STAR NOT THE SAME MOON
RE PT SWA RATN DJ CGC
We are heartbroken to announce that we lost our beautiful Isla to sudden and severe hemorrhagic typhlitis. A necropsy was unfortunately inconclusive as to the exact cause. She was not even two years old, and had a bright future ahead of her. In addition to the titles she had earned, she was only one point away from her AKC Championship, one leg away from her companion dog/novice obedience title, and had legs in agility, coursing and excellent scentwork. More than that, she was my heart dog and we loved each other dearly. Thank you to Ruth Phillips for the first lovely memorial video. The second video was put together by myself.

Isla is from our Link x Alia litter, born 6/23/20. She had big shoes to fill as the last puppy of Link, and she's done that and more. When she was born, she had been in the birth canal a bit too long, and she finally was delivered not breathing and looking blue. I remember being so sad that such a beautiful puppy had come out stillborn. I picked her up and she gasped, and I couldn't believe she was actually alive. We rubbed her vigorously with towels to try to stimulate her own body systems wake up, cleared out her lungs, and she started moving a bit more and more, until she was breathing and happily nursing on her own.
Isla is exactly everything I was hoping for from this pairing. She is an incredibly engaged and focused pup, and shows tons of promise for a future as a sport dog. At home, she is very cuddly, she wants to be touching me as often as she can, follows me around the house, and settles well. She is social or tolerant to other dogs and people if they interact with her, but she does not seek them out like some dogs do. This biddability and devotion is really showing as we are working on obedience and agility skills!
Some of Isla's accomplishments include:
2021: WB/BOS over specials for 5 points in OKC, WB/BOW for 5 points ISAA supported entry in Columbus, high in class in novice barn hunt earning rat novice title, multiple class wins/8 new titles in scentwork, earned HT and PT herding titles, started dock diving and earned dock junior title her second trial
2020: three BPUP group ones at the OKC cluster of shows, earned rally novice title the day she turned six months
