Norrbottenspets
Norrbottenspets are a small Nordic hunting spitz that hunt and hold game with high pitched vocalizations. They are in the Miscellaneous group in AKC and are relatively rare in North America. These dogs are hardy and fearless with a high prey drive, but can also make great family pets and are friendly with people and other dogs. We are always looking for homes that would be interested in hunting with their dogs and help to maintain their working ability. Savo Kennel wrote this excellent article about her experiences hunting with her Norrbottenspets in North America.
We also love homes who want to try out performance sports and/or conformation with their pups. Because the breed is so new to AKC, many judges have never seen one in person, much less the general public. We do as much as we can to get our dogs out to Meet the Breed events and show them whenever we have the opportunity. These dogs excel at such events - they are incredibly environmentally confident, and gently social - they won't jump up or get over excited with new people, but will sit quietly and enjoy calm interactions. We are not currently expecting any litters until 2025. You can email us for more information at [email protected]. |
